Course Description:
The 20th Annual Tufts University's Head and Neck Symposium is an all-day hybrid program presented by several clinicians, researchers, and patients. The program comprehensively discusses all aspects of the diagnostic process, treatment, and management of head and neck and oral cancers. Discussions include present state of the disease and the role and responsibilities of general practitioners and the various specialists in the discovery, treatment and post-operative maintenance required to properly manage the care and quality of life for the patients with cancer and potential malignant conditions.
Course Objectives:
At the End of this Program Attendees Should Have and Understand:
- The various types of cancers that occur in the head and neck region
- The roles and responsibilities of dentists, hygienists, and specialists in the diagnosis and management of head and neck and oral cancers.
- The potential side effects and quality of life issues that cancer may cause
- How to appropriately manage head and neck cancer patients
